I love that nothing has changed about this place! :) Thank you for keeping this place going! I loved going here when I was a kid and now my kids were able to experience it as well. I even loved the same old creepy basement bathroom! lol.
We love coming to this theater. I should probably take away one star only because the seats are a little hard and it is not well-heated due to the age of the building, so I usually keep my coat on while watching a movie. But having said that, it's my favorite place to see movies. At $4 per person, it's very budget-friendly! They are only open on Friday and Saturday and only for one 7:00 p.m. show. The film usually changes every week, so don't wait! Sometimes they will 'hold over' a popular choice for 2 weekends, but not usually. Concessions also are much less expensive than any other theater. Don't bother 'sneaking in' $1 candy, as they sell it here for $1. Popcorn is in a box in smaller than usual theater-size buckets, and is a little too salty for my preference, but still much more budget-friendly than your usual theater experience. Sound quality is great, and the theater itself is a historical building, a restored Opera house, so it is beautiful and fun just to look at the old architecture while waiting for your movie. Being budget-friendly in a small community, there are usually a LOT of kids, many of whom are just dropped off/picked up by their parents. I'm a bossy mother hen myself, so I have no problem shushing the little urchins if they get too noisy/too rowdy, but that issue is a poor parenting issue, not a theater management issue. The owner/manager will come deal with it too, if necessary. Usually just one mom-shush handles it. It's one of the last budget-friendly places to go see a movie on a theater screen in our area and we love it.
Wonderful historic theater where you can catch a movie for less than the price of a latte. What more could you want?
Great old theater. Digital projector was worth the wait. Get a deal cherry Coke or Green River at the concession stand.
Good price for movie. A bit cheaper for tickets, but uncomfortable seats.
